NYPD finally releases statements regarding Julio "Zapaton" Ortega's tragic death

...and the NY Post has an article on it. Check it out here. There are basically no new developments, but we do get some (ridiculous) statements from the drunk off-duty cop who killed Zapaton on March 28th, quickly fleeing the scene of the crime.
"The side-view mirror was like that when I got out of the club," the East Harlem housing officer added.
"Serious, I didn't hit nobody," he said. "All I know is, I didn't hit anybody."
A seemingly clueless Colon didn't even know he was about to be arrested.
"How does it look? Am I in trouble?" he asked an officer about a half hour after the pre-dawn crash March 28. "What's going to happen?"
y luego:
Later at the 20th Precinct, Colon refused to say if he had been driving the car, where he was going and whether he had been drinking during formal questioning - but at the scene cops saw that he had "blood shot eyes, slurred speech and alcohol on his breath."
Yep, you're definitely in trouble, buddy. Colon has been suspended from the police force and faces a maximum of 15 years in prison. No word on when the trial is going to be, but we'll keep you posted if we hear anything (and do let us know as well, porfa).
Zapaton, you remain in our thoughts and hearts. QEPD.
